Black mulberries are Sicily and ours are no exception, laden as they are with the sun of the Catania plain. The myrtle, in addition to sunshine, is loaded with history because it is harvested in the immediate vicinity of the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento.
In an elegant interplay in which the texture of the mulberry gives materiality to its warm aromas, in the mouth it then surprises with freshness. Powerful, more savory than sweet, it lends itself to challenging pairings, such as long-aged or blue cheeses. Red meats do not frighten it, indeed on game it manages to express a gustatory gentleness from which every component of the dish benefits. With these premises, that of breakfast is an all too simple task for a product with enormous potential.
